Cyber Security for Business Executives

The protection of valuable intellectual property and business information in digital form against theft and misuse—is an increasingly critical management issue. Governments all across the world have identified cybersecurity as “one of the most serious economic and national security challenges we face as a nation. This module is intended to introduce the fundamental principles of computer security which includes network security, software security and OS security.


On successful completion of this module a student should be able to:

  • State the basic concepts in information security, including security policies, security models, and security mechanisms.
  • Explain concepts related to applied cryptography, including plain-text, cipher-text, digital signature, message authentication code, hash function.
  • Explain the concepts malicious code, including virus, Trojan horse and worms
  • Describe security requirement for network security also Explain the issues about password authentication
  • Explain the requirement for computer cloud and database also involved the privacy policies
